37 African Countries declare Support for Madagascar’s Coronavirus Treatment

So far, 37 African countries have declared their support for Madagascar’s coronavirus treatment; this is more than half of the 54 independent countries on the African continent.

Over the past weekend, several African leaders held a video conferencing meeting with the leader of Madagascar, President Andry Rajoelina to discuss modalities and also to assure him of Africa’s support for his country’s unique discovery

Some of the leaders that were present at the meeting were; Cyril Ramaphosa (African Union Chairperson and President of South Africa), Abdul Fatah El Sisi (Egypt), Felix Tshisekedi (DRC), Uhuru Kenyatta (Kenya), Paul Kagame (Rwanda), Mahamadou Issoufou (Niger), Idris Derby (Chad), Boubacar Keita (Mali), Andry Rajoelina (Madagascar). After this important endorsement and assurance of support from the African countries, the leader of Madagascar has assured his colleagues that in the next few days the organic medicine will get to all the African countries to help fight and kick out the global pandemic out of the African continent.

Madagascar has begun the construction of additional factories to expand the mass-production of the new found cure for Covid-19 and to ensure that the country wouldn’t be of short in supplying the expected increase in demand.

Currently sold as Covid-Organics, the drink contains extracts of the artimisia annua plant, which is used to treat malaria. The factory will be operational within a month, according to President Andry Rajoelina. “Our researchers and scientists are doing everything necessary to make our coronavirus remedy a drug that meets the standards,” he said on state TV.

The president of Tanzania, John Magufuli, has said he’s sending a plane to Madagascar to fetch the tonic, and Rajoelina said on Twitter that Equatorial Guinea’s vice minister for health had arrived in the country to procure an unknown quantity. Other countries that have also shown interest are Senegal, Guinea-Bissau and Comoros.

This declaration of support by the African leaders is especially important for the African solidarity and unity which are so needed for the building of the new Africa we want.
