The rally of the CRM party that was schedule to hold in Ebolowa on the 1st of November 2019 has now been banned by the Divisional officer in that area.
This same D.O had earlier issued an authorization for the meeting.
According to him the meeting risks clashes between supporters of the CRM and CPDM. But members of the CRM party are not convinced with the D.O excuse, questioning the role of the security forces in handling such matters and guaranteeing security.
There are allegations that the same hall the meeting was supposed to hold in, has also been booked by the ruling CPDM party ahead of the 37 anniversary celebration since the party’s president took power on November 6, 1982.
Members of the CRM are now asking why the meeting was approved earlier without taking this security reason into consideration.
However, the MRC regional president Dr. Oko maintains that the meeting must hold.
