Men Who Gang-raped Students for 17 Days Arrested

Gendarmes are holding three men who took part in gang raping a group of girls they abducted and held for over two weeks in Mfou, a locality just outside Yaounde. The victims are all students aged between 13and 15. The girl victims describe their stay in captivity as 17 days in in hell.

They say they were subjected to all sorts of sexual exploitation from their captors who offered them men in exchange for money or cigarettes. This is the chilling testimony from one of the girls now freed.




“I am 13 years old. A certain guy call Ton Ton (Uncle) George used to force me to sleep with 5 boys per night in Mfou. It was done in open air. Most especially at the stadium. whenever I complained, he will beat me with a chain. Each sexual act cost 2000 FCFA, which was paid to the Captor. Others used to give cigarettes”.

During a crackdown operation in Mfou led by the interim company Commander in Yaounde II, Pierre Ndonda, four suspects aged between 20 and 30 were apprehended. They include Naoce Nfongang alias “Jaguar”, Sunday Jonathan, Menieh kiam Anthony and Tasi Donald alias “Carlos”.  The suspects are cooling in a cell at the Mvog Betsi Gendarmerie Brigade.

Investigators are on the heels of 5th suspected, 32-year-old Joel Wilfried Oyono who is on the run.




The results of the medical examination carried out on the fugitive students is still being awaited.

Meantime, parents have been called upon to be increase their watch over their children and keep them out of trouble.
