AbduKarim Ali the famous vibrant Muslim scholar has walked free from military detention in Yaounde.
He was arrested a couple of few weeks ago as he left the Swiss embassy and whisked off to the national Gerdarmerie head quarters, SED. His interrogation was abruptly discontinued a few days ago, the voice learnt. It was a strong indication that his liberty or released was eminent.
His lawyers and wife last visited him on Wednesday October 30. They discribed him as being extremely high spirited and determined to stand by his ideals of truth and justice for Southern Cameroonians.
It is worth mentioning that The HD – Human right defenders representative for Africa had earlier indicated that quiet diplomacy was on going. He was proven right when the swiss ambassador met President Paul Biya with a special letter from his counterpart of the swiss federation.
His release was apparently a matter of time before it would happen.
